You can mine for gold or…

you can sell pickaxes.

Hi [FIRST_NAME],

Do you know who were the two people that made the most money in
California Gold Rush of 1848 – 1855?

I will tell you the answer in a minute..

First let’s talk about the how we can relate the statement:

“You can mine for gold or you can sell pickaxes”

to building a business on online.

There are thousands if not millions of online business
opportunities out there.

So, that raises the question how do you pick the right
opportunity?

You sell the tools used to mine the “gold” like pickaxes, and
blue jeans.

In today’s world the tools or “pickaxes” -if you will- are things
that help people get leads for their business whether it is online
or offline.

You want to sell the “pickaxes” that get leads for people’s
businesses.

The best way to generate leads is to use online sales / landing
pages that collect people’s names, email addresses, and phone
numbers.

P.S. So who were the two people that made the most money in
California Gold Rush of 1848 – 1855?

Levi Strauss and Samuel Brannan didn’t mine for gold themselves
but instead sold supplies and tools to the miners – wheelbarrows,
tents, jeans, pickaxes etc. Mining for gold was the more exciting
path to take yet actually turned out to be a worse return on
capital and labor than selling supplies and tools.
