Are you looking for crows – or rainbows?

Today is Build a Scarecrow Day.

I have a little problem with this. For you to be thinking of building a scarecrow, you have to be concerned about crows.

I am not against scarecrows, per se. But I think most people spend waaay too much time worrying about all the bad things that may happen – most probably won’t happen. We also spend too little time thinking of all the good that is all around us every day.

So I prefer to think of rainbows rather than storms.

The first known rainbow appeared after the famous storm and flood that Noah endured for 40 days. As the Bible indicates, this is a symbol that good always follows the bad.

We all face storms in our lives. But if we maintain a positive attitude, there is always something good that happens out of the crisis of the storm.

E.g. on Monday I had an email sending account suspended. At first blush, a calamity, but I quickly forgot about it and mentally moved on.

Only about 30 hours after that happened a completely unexpected blessing was delivered from my angelic friend, Sam. Result, instead of a loss on Monday, I now have a fantastically BETTER program that fell in my lap just one day later!

More about this tomorrow.

Meanwhile think on this: “God has not given you the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind.” This was said by Paul in II Timothy 1:7.

When we are operating out of fear we are denying the power of God to sustain us. ‘Fear’ and “sound mind” are OPPOSITES.

So I rejoice in the storms because I know a rainbow is coming.

We need to learn to ACCEPT CHANGE WITH A SMILE.

Sooner or later you’ll experience a crisis in your life, and how you meet it will determine your future happiness or sorrow, misery or success.

Since the beginning of time, everyone has been called upon to meet such a crisis. A closer look will show you that most “crisis situations” are opportunities to either advance or stay where you are.

In fact, most changes in your life will take place out of either “inspiration” or “desperation.” Whatever comes your way, give it meaning and transform it into something of value. As W. Clement Stone said, “Every adversity has within it the seeds of an equal or greater opportunity.”

Your personal growth is the process of responding positively to change.

A precious stone cannot be polished without friction. Humanity cannot be perfected without trials.

As we look back on our lives, we often realize that what at the time we thought was a horrible tragedy, had turned into a great blessing instead. I have seen this over and over in my life.
Another statement from the Apostle Paul, “…I have learned to be content in all things…” Philippians 4:12. There is much more in that chapter if you wish to dig deeper. The main thought is that, although Paul had been both rich and poor, it did not matter. He was always content.

So, do you have troubles? You need to learn to be content while going through them – as Paul was, and as I believe.

Do you realize where Paul was when he wrote those words?

He was in prison, on death row. Waiting for his execution. Yet he was happy.

Sometimes it may seem impossible to change your circumstances. HOWEVER it is always possible to change your attitude. Only you can control your thoughts. True even if you were literally in prison.

I assure you that if I were in prison, like Paul, I would still be expecting and looking for positive outcomes.

There are many stories of people who have done this and created good out of the bad. These storied have come to us from people who were in the Nazi concentration camps, the Soviet Gulag, and all sorts of other prisons.

So today, I am happy and thankful for my many blessings.

The sun is shining, I had my ice cream birthday celebration last night, my programs like My Advertising Pays are humming along splendidly, and so many other good things I can’t even think of them all.

Build a Scarecrow if you wish. As for me, I would rather look for the rainbows.

By the way, tomorrow I will share with you the new blessing I found courtesy of Sam. Whereas I was paying a fee every month to send out those messages (which produced very POOR results), this new program sends emails FOR you every day. Costs nothing, takes only about 10 minutes a week, and earns about dollars AUTOMATICALLY every day. Plus the amount increases every week. Fantastic compounding.

Very exciting. Will share the details tomorrow.

More rainbows to come!
