2017 Porsche 718 Boxster Review

This vehicle
strengths model:
sculpted style; powerful turbocharged engines; handling precision; excellent engineering
Changing the model:
The Porsche 718 Boxster and Boxster S 718 have been completely redesigned for 2017. They have better handling, better fuel efficiency and some new name pays homage to the race car mid-engine 718 Porsche 1950 and 60. the new turbo engines – a 2.0L flat-four making 300 horsepower in the Boxster and 718 to 2.5L 350 horsepower in the S – are more powerful and 14 percent more efficient than the units replaced. Both are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Boxster 718 has a suggested price of $ 56,000, while the Boxster S 718 starts at $ 68,400.
View of the model:
In her new look “718”, Porsche Boxster and Boxster S are better than what I’ve been. There are few contenders in the game roadster central rear engine unit, perhaps because there is little hope against the unconditional Boxster. There’s even more to like 2017, with a complete redesign that includes even more powerful – and now turbocharged – engines.
Model overview:
It is hard to believe that 2017 marks 20 years of production of the Porsche Boxster. The German automaker has outdone itself to celebrate, with new Boxster and Boxster the 718,718 S. The mid-engine, rear-wheel drive cars has been completely redesigned, with the exception of the rear trunk lid, above and windshield. The front looks more muscular with larger air intakes and new bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights integrated. LED headlights are optional.
Underneath, the chassis has been redesigned to improve the responsiveness and steel composite construction of aluminum makes for a light but incredibly rigid platform. Braking is by means of aluminum calipers 4 pistons internally vented and perforated with wear sensors on each corner pad discs.
The interiors have been refreshed as well, with the best materials and excellent ergonomics, plus the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) which is the basis of everything from integrating cell phone and audio interfaces to the optional navigation actual traffic updates, Apple and Google Street View car game. Top electric roadster has a wind deflector and glass rear window with heating and can operate at speeds up to 31 mph.
Porsche Boxster has abandoned excellent than previous fed and naturally aspirated four planes for a whole new turbo and four planes. In the Boxster 718, the 2.0-liter unit produces 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. In the Boxster S 2.5L 718, the output is rated at 350 horsepower and 309 lb.-ft.. In each vehicle, the output is up 35 horsepower over previous models, while torque is up 74 pound-feet in the Boxster and 43 pound-feet in the Boxster S. Both engines feature automatic stop / start technology, and both are coupled to a manual 6-speed transmission standard, while the PDK 7-speed Porsche double clutch automatic is optional. The maximum speed is rated at 170 mph for the Boxster and 177 mph for the Boxster S.
718 Boxster rides on 18-inch wheels and includes standard features such as a rear spoiler that extends automatic, power windows with one-touch, power heated mirrors, sports seats with electric backrest adjustment, automatic climate control with activated carbon filter, 110 watt sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, park assist with a rear camera and PCM. The instrument panel features triple round gauges with tachometer front and center, while a high resolution TFT screen monitors vehicle configurations and navigation, radio, telephone and information. The 718 Boxster S is similarly equipped, but it is mounted on 19-inch wheels and includes sports pedals.
There are several options available in each car, including a BOSE or Burmester surround sound system, integrated navigation PCM, seats 18-way adaptive sport, a sport steering wheel GT, automatic climate control, dual-zone, heated seats and ventilation, and safety features such as adaptive cruise control and lane change. $ 7.400 Brakes Porsche Ceramic Composite (PCCB) add carbon fiber reinforced with six-piston calipers yellow discs. And the Sport Chrono package features an analog and digital stopwatch, along with steering wheel-mounted controls for Normal, Sport and Sport Plus settings to change the engine, transmission and chassis responsiveness. Launch control is also included in the PDK transmission equipped cars.
2017 Porsche 718 Boxster is just fabulous…
Test drove a 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster base model with PDK as well as a 2016 Boxster S. The 718 had much more usable power and a nice sound (though not quite the Flat Six symphony when wound out!). A week later I placed my order with most of the performance option boxes ticked; Sport Chrono, PASM, Sport Exhaust. The only thing I left off was Torque Vectoring. I chose a Manual transmission ..
